New Intro to Birding Workshops this Spring!
Hi birders!
I'll be hosting a series of four birding workshops this April. The workshops have been in development for over a year. They are intended to introduce basic principles of bird identification and bird finding. Topics will include bird structure, plumage and molt, bird behaviour, songs and calls, habitat, migration, and basic birding resources. There is only so much we can cover in a few sessions, so the focus will be on principles to put into practice as you learn. This is a great introduction for novice birders or for birders who are learning. See information on the workshops page.
Overall the focus will be on birds in the BC Interior, but if enough people register from different areas, I can create a custom presentation that is location-specific.
Also, the Creston Bird Fest is going online this year. I'll be hosting three short workshops focused on ebird, basic birding principles, and birdfinding in Creston. There are lots of other great speakers and events. See the Creston Bird Fest website for the schedule of events and to register.
